All of us looked forward to July for it would be our turn to be the host to show our fellow Chinese students the true Singapore. A total of nearly 40 over students from nine universities such as Zhejiang, Tsinghua, Shanghai Jiaotong, Fudan etc would come over to NUS for a similar summer exchange. We would become their team buddies for their trip, with Gary and Kuan Rong taking charge overall.

I had made several new Chinese friends. Time was short for me to get to know everyone. There were some I hardly talk to and some whom I did have several interesting conversations with them. It was a pity because during the second week of their stay, I was busy packing to move my stuffs to my new house so I could not attend certain days, including the farewell lunch and sending them off to the airport. My apology to all of you. It’s a great pleasure to meet all of you here in Singapore. Occasionally, I will have some chatting with some of them in msn. So, still not too bad for me anyway.

Here are some Chinese names which I can recall based on my memory though I may not have the chance to talk to everyone listed here:

莫鹏, 张宏亮, 金慧良, 蒋瑾瑾, 柴路, 倪轶容, 李瑞, 莫申江, 高金达, 谢碧琼, 张盈盈, 徐滢 (lady boss, though nvm talk to her be4)

(There are many names I have missed out obviously)

Places I went with them include EDB, IE Singapore, Sg Stock Exchange, Lynk’s biotechnology, BBQ/Steamboat at Marine etc. Btw, Lynk’s biotechnology’s Managing Director Lee Chee Wee gave an impressive presentation about his company! When asked what is his secret of success, Dr Lee said it’s the people that he has got.

Kuan Rong, Gary, someday, shall we visit them in China? Haha.

If not because of them, I don’t think I will ever have a chance to enter a Hindu temple.
